Is a landfill gas to energy facility in Freeport, Texas. The facility has a 4.0 MMCFD LFG processing plant consisting of 4 Vilter screw compressors. The plant has gas treatment equipment to remove H2S, Oxygen, water and CO2. The facility was constructed by DTE Biomass in 2018. Gas from the facility is sold to OCI Fuels Limited. Pay range: $28.03 - $34.19.

This position is responsible for the day-to-day operation, maintenance and repair of a landfill gas collection and processing facility. Work is performed under general supervision of a Facility Manager, with work results reviewed through the achievement of set goals and adherence to policies and procedures.

• Conduct day-to-day operation, maintenance, and repair of a landfill gas (LFG) collection system and LFG delivery pipeline
• Perform equipment inspections, collect samples of LFG wells and gas collection system, and make adjustments to optimize well flow as necessary
• Collect oil, water, wastewater, gas, and air samples for analysis
• Perform minor electrical and mechanical repairs
• Adhere to company and project-specific health and safety requirements; participate in monthly safety audits and inspections
• Maintain administrative records including logbook, filing system for drawings, instruction books and manuals, spare parts inventory, and records
• Support, assist, and direct the work of contractors on site
• Operate a motor vehicle and/or off-road vehicle on undeveloped terrain
• Work independently with little or no supervision

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Possess a valid driver’s license and good driving record
• Analyze problems, develop solutions, and recommend sound alternatives
• Work overtime including call-outs outside of normal business hours, weekends, and holidays
• Basic computer skills and proficiency with MS Office applications

Preferred:

• Previous military experience
• A technical degree or certificate in an electrical or mechanical field is preferable, or equivalent work experience with electrical and mechanical systems
• Familiar with gas compression and/or gas transportation
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical and instrument control systems including equipment such as motors, blowers, controls, and pumps
