Adjunct Professor - Applied Music

The Trine University Music Program on the Angola, Indiana, campus, invites applications for the establishment of an open pool of temporary adjunct faculty positions to teachin-person applied music lessons in brass, woodwind, string, vocal, keyboard, and percussionfor the  academic year. Appointments are contingent on student enrollment and instructional need. Applications in this pool will only be good for the current academic year. Responsibilities include developing an applied music lesson curriculumbased on student goals, evaluating and advising student musicianship and technique,maintaining accurate records of student progress, and submitting grades according to institutional policies.

Additional teaching assignments may include directing sectionals with the appropriateensemble and instrument section (marching/pep band, wind ensemble, chamber orchestra,university choir, and jazz bands) in consultation with the Director of the Music program.

Applicants must have a master’s degree in music performance; experience working witha wide range of musical skill levels and styles from beginner, intermediate, and advanced;and/or four years of successful applied teaching experience at the community, university,or professional level plus a bachelor’s degree in music performance. Professionalmusic performance experience is preferred, but not required.

Salary is based upon the number of credit hours taught and the number of students registered for the class being taught.
