Aboutthe role
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the execution of Mitrelli’s Overhead Line (OHL) projects in the Energy sector. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in Medium Voltage (MV), Low Voltage (LV) OHL projects, including all the stages up to the house connections
. Preferably, a proven track record in project management, and the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in complex environments. Must have a good level of Portuguese and English (is a plus).
You will be responsible for planning, organizing, and managing all phases of project execution, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, schedule, and budget requirements. This position is reported directly to the Project Director.
Key Responsibilities Project Management- Lead all project phases — initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closing — in line with PMI BoK® standards.
- Define and manage project scope, cost baseline and quality of execution.
- Control and manage risks, scope, schedule, and budget to ensure project success.
- Manage the overall and continuous performance of the Subcontractors.
- Oversee and report project progress to the Project Director.
- Lead and motivate project teams, fostering accountability and collaboration.
- Remove barriers to performance and ensure productivity and team commitment.
- Manage and coordinate the Project Management Team (PMT) and subcontractors.
- Conduct regular follow-up meetings (daily, weekly, monthly) with PMT and subcontractors to ensure progress, alignment, and compliance with HSE standards.
- Implement and manage quality, environmental, and HSE processes on-site.
- Supervise construction works to ensure compliance with design specifications, project criteria, and national regulations.
- Ensure compliance with all safety guidelines and regulations.
- Define plant-specific requirements for OHL MV/LV.
- Approve and verify OHL equipment / material documentation.
- Collaborate closely with the Project Director on reporting, budget forecasting, scheduling, and procurement activities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Project Management certification is a plus).
- 6+ years of experience managing OHL MV/LV projects, ideally with experience in Africa.
- Proven success in leading multidisciplinary teams in technically complex environments.
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- High sense of ownership, problem‑solving ability, and decision‑making skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Fluent in Portuguese and English (is a plus).
- Must be open to work in Uíge Province and mobilize to other provinces as needed.
