Registered Nurse (RN) SummaryThe RN is responsible for providing direct nursing care to the residents and supervising the day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and maintaining the highest quality of care.
Registered Nurse (RN)Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Direct the day-to-day functions of nursing assistants, including planning shift services, programs, and activities; provide written and oral reports and recommendations.
- Admit, transfer, and discharge residents and maintain accurate record-keeping; receive and transcribe telephone orders; chart nurse notes; file accident/incident reports; complete routine charting duties per policies.
- Prepare and administer medications as ordered by physicians.
- Develop and maintain a good working rapport with inter‑departmental personnel and create a warm, calm environment throughout the unit and shift; deliver shift reports.
- Administer professional services such as catheterization, tube feedings, suction, dressing changes, colostomy and drainage bag care, blood draws, massages, range of motion exercises, and care for the dying.
- Monitor assigned personnel to ensure adherence to safety regulations.
- Maintain confidentiality of resident care information, report unauthorized disclosures, and provide privacy during care.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Registered Nurse with current unencumbered state license.
- Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
- Capable of making independent decisions when warranted.
- Knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices, laws, regulations, and guidelines relevant to nursing care facilities.
- Current CPR certification.
- Experience in long‑term care preferred.
