Manufacturing & Quality Engineering Manager
Location: Angola, Indiana
Department: Engineering
Reports To: Director of Engineering and Quality
FLSA Status: Salary Exempt
Key Responsibilities- Lead and direct all product development, change orders, and production support through process engineers, programmers, and tooling teams.
- Manage personnel to obtain maximum efficiency and meet performance objectives.
- Control significant manufacturing projects, including continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives.
- Provide strong leadership, set high standards, and coach direct reports.
- Promote a team‑based environment, positive atmosphere, and a harassment‑free workplace.
- Oversee the Corrective Action and Preventive Action (CAPA) process or designate a member of quality to ensure the CAPA procedure is followed and the system is effective.
- Perform statistical analysis of processes, tools, gauges and products to exceed customer requirements and continually improve internal quality standards.
- Identify relevant quality‑related training needs and deliver training as needed.
- Assist annually with the budget process and strategic planning.
- Support Monthly Management Report (MMR) analysis and generation.
- Actively support and enforce safety and environmental standards.
- Ensure product quality meets or exceeds customer requirements and work directly with customers to identify and correct product quality issues.
- Authorize withholding of any shipment deemed unacceptable or non‑conforming.
- Maintain awareness of technical advancements and develop new processes based on them.
- Monitor and initiate corrective actions with respect to scrap and rework.
- Migrate the measuring and monitoring of the Quality Management System and implement continuous improvement activities to correct deficiencies.
- Develop, implement, and maintain a shop‑floor inspection system that provides operators with the necessary tools to perform inspection activities and meet customer expectations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Management, Business Administration, or a related field (advanced degree highly desirable).
- 10‑15 years of experience directing, managing or supervising engineering and quality functions, or willingness to work with someone who has fewer years of experience.
- Experience implementing new product releases to manufacturing.
- Strong background in manufacturing processes, new product release, and estimating.
- Knowledge of ISO 13485 and 21
