Requisition

Credit Solutions Manager
- Automotive Finance (Hamilton, ON)

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the profitable development of Automotive Commercial Credit business by ensuring timely analysis, structuring, and presentation of credit proposals within the prescribed segment.
  • Attend client meetings (Teams, phone, or in person) to understand borrowers’ needs and provide sound credit recommendations.
  • Provide prompt and sound recommendations in the analysis and adjudication of credit proposals exceeding assigned limits.
  • Ensure (Sr.) RM communication clearly conveys decision rationale.
  • Monitor pricing guidelines and hurdles for loans and credit‑related fees to drive profitable growth.
  • Recommend alternative terms, conditions, and covenants to provide viable banking proposals within sound lending practices.
  • Restructure marginal proposals into bankable deals when possible.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to (Sr.) RM, enhancing client service.
  • Work directly with GRM partners to ensure authorization matches requests and achieve timely adjudication.

Additional responsibilities include ensuring accurate communication and implementation of authorizations:

  • Review written authorizations for accuracy, completeness, and clarity.
  • Ensure prompt follow‑up for acceptance of authorizations and address issues swiftly.
  • Address loan documentation adequacy, quality, and security issues.
  • Liaise with RM on required changes and follow up before fund disbursement.
  • Provide GRM with feedback when authorizations differ from requests.

Ensure ongoing quality of the credit portfolio:

  • Advise senior management of credit weaknesses in accounts through analysis of relevant financial, legal, political, technological, and industry information.
  • Adhere to regulatory and internal Bank policies and requirements.
  • Comply with KYC, AML/ATF, privacy, and OHS requirements.
Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree in business or economics (or work‑related equivalency).
  • Excellent risk assessment, accounting and financial analysis skills.
  • Good coaching skills and understanding of customer profitability model.
  • Ability to build solid business‑case justification for deals.
  • Self‑starter with ability to prioritize and multi‑task.
  • Superior interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Industry knowledge and MBA or professional designation (CPA, CFA, etc.) considered assets.
