The Administrative Coordinator supports the mission and ministries of Lutheran Church of Hope Ankeny through administrative coordination, ministry support, volunteer engagement, and operational excellence. This position provides administrative support for campus ministries, events, and church operations while partnering with ministry leaders to support ministry initiatives, communications, and congregation engagement opportunities. Responsibilities will be prioritized based on campus needs, ministry priorities, and available work hours.
PrimaryFunctions
- Provide administrative support for ministry initiatives, events, registrations, projects, church operations, and office functions while managing multiple priorities with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Serve as a welcoming point of contact for staff, volunteers, church members, and community guests.
- Partner with ministry leaders to support ministry campaigns, seasonal initiatives, congregation engagement opportunities, and ministry promotions, including Youth & Family registrations, Adult Ministry events, Alpha, Women’s Ministry, Prayer Ministry, and other ministry initiatives.
- Assist with gathering information, coordinating deadlines, and submitting content requests to support timely ministry communications, monthly emails, congregation updates, and special projects in collaboration with ministry leaders and the Communications Team.
- Meet regularly with the Administrative Team Lead for planning, feedback, and project coordination.
- Attend weekly Hope Ankeny staff meetings.
- Support major church-wide events including Christmas, Easter, Vacation Bible School, mission events, and other special campus initiatives as assigned.
- Adhere to the Lutheran Church of Hope Staff Covenant for spiritual, personal, and professional conduct.
- Strive to live a Christ-centered life rooted in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Demonstrate professionalism, flexibility, initiative, and a servant-hearted approach to ministry.
- Foster positive relationships with staff, volunteers, church members, guests, and community partners.
- Reflect and support the mission, vision, values, and culture of Lutheran Church of Hope through work performed with integrity, accountability, and excellence.
- Demonstrate a passion for ministry and commitment to the mission and values of Lutheran Church of Hope.
- Experience working with volunteers, ministry teams, or community organizations preferred.
- Strong organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
- Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, church management software, Canva, and other administrative tools.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with staff and volunteers.
Hours: Part‑Time, non‑exempt (20 hours per week)
Work Schedule: Flexible weekday schedule averaging 20 hours per week. Evening and weekend hours may be required to support church events and ministry activities.
Pay and Benefits: Per agreed‑upon Compensation Package.
