Job Summary

Adjunct Dental Hygiene Instructor to teach various Dental Hygiene courses.

Days and times to be determined.

Essential Functions

Teaches assigned courses in accordance with course competencies and syllabi. Develops and/or utilizes a variety of instructional strategies, techniques and delivery methods designed to meet the individual learning styles of students. Fosters a safe and civil learning environment. Informs students about course requirements, evaluation procedures, and attendance policies. Monitors, evaluates, and documents student attendance, progress and competency attainment.

Required Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in Dental Hygiene and Bachelor’s degree.
  • 3 years non‑teaching related clinical work experience.
  • Registered Dental Hygienist or ability to obtain Iowa Dental Hygienist license prior to start of employment.
  • BLS CPR Certified Healthcare Provider.
  • DDS or DMD.
  • Registered Dentist.
Desired Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in a related field or current enrollment in a related master’s degree program.
  • 3 years non‑teaching related clinical work experience, to teach in Didactic courses in DHY.
  • Teaching experience.
