Lab Coordinator, METT

Starting salary: $55,176 – $60,045 (Pay Grade AI). The role begins in the Fall Semester of 2026 and is located on the DMACC campus.

Job Summary

Coordinate program laboratories and assist instructors in the operation of the lab areas and equipment to facilitate the student learning process.

Essential Functions
  • Prepare and organize materials and equipment needed for laboratory and work‑site activities.
  • Direct student activities and monitor assignments during laboratory sessions.
  • Clean up and maintain records required by instructors and for safety compliance.
  • Set up, monitor, and correct practical examinations and reports.
  • Maintain inventory of materials and supplies; contact vendors and initiate requisitions.
  • Monitor and update SDS information and notify instructors of changes.
  • Schedule and arrange maintenance or repair of equipment.
  • Train instructors and students on equipment use, chemical handling, and disposal procedures.
  • Coordinate chemical disposal with the Physical Plant Safety Officer.
  • Provide work direction to lab staff and substitute or adjunct teach as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Completion of an apprenticeship program, associate’s degree, diploma, or related technical training in manufacturing, engineering, trades, or transportation fields.
  • Three (3) years of work experience in a career and/or technical occupation.
  • Ability to perform material estimates.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and manage projects and job sites.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with diverse individuals.
  • Knowledge of current software applications.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
Desired Qualifications
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Knowledge of state‑of‑the‑art equipment and processes associated with career and technical education.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequent:
    Neck flexion, extension & rotation; hand coordination; mobile & standing ability.
  • Occasional:
    Floor‑to‑10‑inch lift of 100 lbs; floor‑to‑knuckle lift of 65 lbs; floor‑to‑waist lift of 65 lbs; carry of 80 lbs for 30 ft; horizontal push/pull of 40 lbs for 10 ft; forward reach; lateral reach; climb ladder; crouch/kneel; fine motor coordination.
Work Schedule

Monday‑Friday, day hours.
