Prior teaching experience preferred, but not required.
Education & Licensure

Bachelor’s degree in a related field and Iowa BOEE Teacher License.

- Administer developmental testing programs and subject‑specific assessments to evaluate student competency and develop individual learning plans.
- Assess student progress, provide feedback, and prepare written materials such as notes, attendance records, and behavioral logs.
- Manage student behavior, counsel students, and monitor them in various educational settings.
- Communicate with parents and guardians about progress, expectations, and strategies for improvement.
- Collaborate with instructional staff, community resources, and school personnel to improve student outcomes.
- Respond to inquiries, resolve issues, and participate in meetings such as IEPs and 504 meetings.
- Administer first aid and report incidents to maintain safety and compliance with policies.
- Demonstrate consistent attendance, punctuality, and instructional continuity.
- Adhere to Iowa Teaching Standards and Ethical Standards for Educators.
- Participate in staff development, faculty meetings, and special events.
- Provide excellent customer service to all employees.
- Work efficiently and independently with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrate respect and professionalism in interactions with colleagues, students, and families.
- Use positive and professional communication in all interactions.
- Adhere to safety protocols and district policies.
- Support district goals and objectives and contribute to the overall success of the school community.

Physical demands include lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, reaching, driving, standing, and walking. Conditions may involve extreme temperatures, humidity, and exposure to communicable diseases. The position requires emotional control under stress.
