About the Position

The Professor of Office Administration and Program Chair provides high-quality instruction in Office Administration while providing academic leadership for the Office Administration major.

This position is responsible for curriculum development, student success initiatives, program assessment, faculty collaboration, industry engagement, accreditation support, and ensuring the program remains aligned with current workforce needs.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities Teaching
  • Teach undergraduate courses in Office Administration and related disciplines using effective, student-centered instructional methods.
  • Develop and maintain course syllabi, instructional materials, and assessments aligned with institutional learning outcomes.
  • Deliver instruction in areas such:
    • Office Management
    • Business Communications
    • Records and Information Management
    • Administrative Technology
    • Microsoft Office Applications
    • Customer Service
    • Business Writing
    • Event and Meeting Planning
    • Office Procedures
    • Business Ethics
  • Integrate emerging technologies and digital tools into classroom instruction.
  • Evaluate student performance and provide timely, constructive feedback.
  • Maintain accurate academic records and submit grades according to institutional policies.
  • Hold regular office hours to advise and mentor students.
  • Serve as the program chair for the Office Administration major.
  • Lead curriculum review, revision, and development to ensure industry relevance.
  • Monitor program quality, student outcomes, and retention.
Student Advising
  • Advise students regarding academic planning, degree completion, and career pathways.
  • Assist students with internships, experiential learning, and employment opportunities.
  • Mentor student organizations related to business and administrative professions.
Faculty and Institutional Service
  • Participate in departmental, divisional, and college committees.
  • Collaborate with faculty on curriculum planning and interdisciplinary initiatives.
Professional Development
  • Maintain expertise in Office Administration through continuing education, certifications, conferences, and professional organizations.
  • Pursue scholarly, creative, or professional activities consistent with institutional expectations.
  • Stay current with advancements in office technologies, artificial intelligence applications, and business software.
Convictions and Character/Religious Qualifications
  • Applicants must agree without mental reservation with FBBC&TS’s foundational documents.
  • Applicants must be Baptists in their beliefs and practice.
  • Applicants must adhere to Biblical standards of morality and living.
  • Applicants and/or their spouses must not be or ever have been divorced.
Academic Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Office Administration, Business Administration, Management, Organizational Leadership, Business Education, or a closely related field. The institution will assist otherwise qualified individuals in completing an MA.
  • Experience teaching at the college level or demonstrated instructional expertise.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and current office technologies.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
