Enrichment Assistant
Purpose Statement
The role of Before & After School Program – Enrichment Assistant is to support the physical, behavioral, and social-emotional needs of all students in the out-of-school setting. They assist in implementing high-quality, hands‑on enrichment programming while creating a nurturing environment where every student feels safe, valued, and engaged.

Reports To: Manager of Before & After School Programs and/or Before & After School Program Site Leader/Assistant Site Leader(s)

Monday – Friday 6:15 – 7:45 a.m. - Hours:
Monday – Friday 2:30 – 6:00 p.m. (with some flexibility to arrive between 2:30-4:00 p.m.) - No‑School Day Camps – required availability 6:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., as enrollment requires
- Extended Break Camp (winter, spring) – required availability 6:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., as enrollment requires
- Inclement Weather Program Days – per Handbook inclement weather hours
Position hours vary. Total weekly hours will not exceed 29.75; exact hours are per individual employment agreement. Positions are scheduled in sessions (approximate 9-week increments). Length of contract: one session with the opportunity to extend the position for additional sessions throughout the program year, pending satisfactory performance evaluation.
Minimum Qualifications
- 16 years of age.
- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills with students and staff.
- Ability to demonstrate patience and flexibility.
- Ability to take direction and a willingness to collaborate as part of a team.
- Ability to implement procedures and support daily operations.
- Must demonstrate reliable attendance.
- Experience working and interacting with school‑age students, preferred.
Essential Functions
- Assist enrichment leaders in implementing lesson plans by working with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning and assist with hands‑on projects
- Provide individual or small group support for students, including assistance with behavior intervention plans, as directed by the site leader
- Assist site leaders and enrichment leaders in communicating expectations, modeling positive behavior, and using de‑escalation and conflict‑resolution strategies when needed
- Actively engage with students and families to establish a safe, positive, engaging environment
- Supervise and actively monitor students in various settings, including classrooms and non‑classrooms, such as cafeterias, hallways, gyms, playgrounds, buses, during arrival and dismissal, and on field trips
- Provide front office coverage while facilitating student dismissal and verifying authorized pickups; perform accurate data entry; and assist with questions and general support
- Demonstrate responsible use of program resources by ensuring appropriate materials are available, properly put away, and that activity areas are cleaned and organized after use
