Salary Information

$12.50 per hour.

Job Summary

The work study program provides funds for part-time employment to help students finance the costs of postsecondary education. The program encourages community service work and work related to the student’s course of study. The program is designed to provide students with an opportunity for employment arranged around class schedules, while providing essential services to the College and the community.

Essential Functions

Maintain inventory of equipment, including adding serial numbers on new gear as needed, making suggestions for gear/supplies, and keeping a running spreadsheet.

Checkout equipment and follow up on returns using online system.

Help with social media and various multimedia design needs as requested by the video production department.

Make sure various classrooms are prepared and ready for work.

Help with film club as needed/requested.

Make sure Memory cards are in correct places.

Make sure camera equipment, audio equipment, cables, LED light kits, and all miscellaneous cinema tools/equipment are accounted for, stored properly, and maintained.

Required Qualifications

Availability to work in the Video Cage on the Ankeny campus daily roughly 20 hours per week.

Ability to lift equipment frequently.

Ability to learn all computer systems required for the job:
Gmail usage, modifying google forms, etc. Knowledge of basic film terms and techniques and ability to understand set protocols and continuity.

Knowledge of Digital filmmaking software from Resolve, Premiere, etc.
