Responsibilities
  • Design and source weld tooling, robotic welding systems, custom racks, and material handling equipment using E-Tools to plan workflows, resolve issues, and ensure safe, ergonomic operations.
  • Support issue resolution and drive quality performance by participating in activities such as FGRs, DPARs, and PFMEAs.
  • Develop and implement improvements to enhance product performance and reduce welding costs.
  • Support the design and implementation of lean manufacturing cell layouts to improve material flow and presentation.
  • Assist in capital and labor planning by preparing accurate estimates and SAP routings for AFE and program management.
  • Support new product launches from concept through production.
Required Skills
  • Knowledge of weld tooling design, robotic/automation systems, work center and line design, and complex welded assemblies.
  • Ability to improve production flow and support projects from concept through completion.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, SAP, wPlanner/MPP, and 3D modeling tools.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with automated manufacturing cells and robotic programming.
  • Proficiency in Creo, Solid Works, or AutoCAD.
  • Knowledge of GD&T principles.
  • Experience working in a union environment.
  • Background in shop floor operations, work measurement, and incentive pay systems.
  • Knowledge of capital budgeting and equipment justification.
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Product Delivery Process (EPDP).
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Weld, or Mechanical Engineering (or related field),
  • OR
  • At least 5 years of experience in a technical role supporting automated welding operations.
