Job Title:

Systems Engineer
- Automation

The Systems Engineer
- Automation will collaborate with engineering and leadership teams to guide strategic initiatives aimed at improving delivery, quality, and reducing costs.

Responsibilities include:

  • Designing and developing distributed control systems (DCS) including PLC/HMI/SCADA programs, selecting products for BOM based on customer specifications, creating sequences of operations (SOO), and producing engineering drawings in AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN.
  • Producing engineering and project control submittals using standard software, selecting standard parts, and preparing control submittals in accordance with Baker Group’s standards.
  • Reviewing product standards and control submittal formats with the engineering team.
  • Providing sales support, including assisting with customer demos, estimating, product applications, and proposals.
  • Ensuring employee satisfaction through effective communication and coordination.
  • Executing project scope, identifying opportunities beyond contracted work, and understanding contract terms.
  • Partnering with the engineering team and field technicians to improve processes, accuracy, and quality.
  • Developing sequences of operations in collaboration with project teams.
  • Re-estimating projects based on control submittals and providing as-built documentation post-project.
  • Participating in turnover meetings and utilizing company documents for project management.

    • Minimum Education & Experience:

    Equivalent experience in the automation industry (PLC or DDC) may substitute formal education.
