Overview

Kinzler Corporation is seeking an HR Generalist to support a wide range of human resources functions in a growing, multi-state construction services organization. This role plays a critical part in supporting employees and leaders while ensuring HR processes are executed accurately, consistently, and in compliance with applicable laws and company policies.

The HR Generalist will have direct ownership of several core HR functions, including benefits administration, leave of absence management, recruiting, and compliance-related programs, and will work closely with the HR Director for guidance, alignment, and support.

This role is well-suited for an HR professional who enjoys hands-on responsibility, values accuracy and follow-through, and is comfortable balancing employee support with compliance requirements.

Key Areas of Responsibility Employee Experience & HR Support
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for employee questions related to benefits, leave, and HR policies
  • Support the HR Director in implementing programs and processes that enhance the employee experience
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive employee matters
Benefits Administration
  • Educate employees on benefit programs and assist with navigating coverage options
  • Support new hire benefit enrollment and qualifying life events
  • Partner with the benefits broker to develop employee-facing education materials
  • Facilitate annual open enrollment and respond to employee benefit questions
Leave of Absence Administration
  • Serve as the primary administrator for all employee leaves of absence, managing the process end to end with guidance from the HR Director
  • Administer FMLA, non-FMLA medical leaves, ADA-related leaves, workers' compensation coordination, and company leave programs
  • Track leave timelines, manage documentation, communicate with employees and leaders, and coordinate return-to-work processes
  • Ensure leave practices comply with federal, state, and company requirements
Recruiting
  • Recruit for a variety of roles across the organization, with a focus on field, skilled, and operations positions
  • Apply industry-appropriate and market-aware recruiting strategies
  • Utilize the applicant tracking system (ATS) and external partners to manage job postings, candidate flow, interviews, and offers
  • Coordinate pre-employment requirements and support a smooth onboarding experience
Compliance & Risk Support
  • Manage pre-employment, post-accident, and DOT-regulated drug testing programs
  • Support unemployment claim administration through documentation, audits, and coordination with external partners
  • Assist with Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) and other hiring-related tax credit programs
  • Maintain accurate HR records to support audits and compliance requirements
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of human resources experience in a generalist or similar role
  • Experience administering benefits and leave programs
  • Recruiting experience, preferably in a field-based or construction environment
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and sound judgment
  • Bilingual Spanish preferred
