Electrical Shop Technician

The Shop Technician is responsible for building, wiring, and assembling electrical control panels and related components. This role requires the ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams, as well as maintaining an organized workspace. The position may also support machine assembly and general warehouse duties as needed.

• Wire, solder, and crimp electrical connections according to engineering drawings, schematics, and wire lists.
• Lay out, mount, and assemble panel components and enclosures.
• Assist with panel testing to ensure they meet company quality standards.
• Manage project materials from issuance through project completion.
• Fabricate parts using shop tools such as a drill press, bandsaw, chop saw, hydraulic punch, welder, and similar equipment.
• Take on additional tasks as needed to support production.
• Assist with maintenance and repair of the facility and equipment.
• Support warehouse operations when necessary.

• Strong understanding of electrical theory, components, systems, and advanced circuitry.
• Ability to accurately read and interpret electrical diagrams and blueprints.
• Skill in diagnosing and troubleshooting complex electrical systems and components (preferred).
• Experience with assembly processes and related tools.
• Knowledge of quality‑control practices and testing methods, including adherence to industry standards.
• Familiarity with PLC programming and device configuration (preferred).
• Proficiency with shop machinery, engravers, and CNC equipment (preferred).
• Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain an acceptable MVR.
• Occasional travel may be required (minimal).
• Welding ability is a plus.
