The Assistant Store Manager Operations is a full-time, on-site role based in Ankeny, Iowa. This role supports daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and adherence to company policies. The Assistant Store Manager Operations helps oversee inventory flow by coordinating buying, tagging, merchandising, and replenishment of gently used apparel and accessories. This position assists with scheduling, guiding, and coaching team members to deliver excellent customer service and maintain store standards.
The role also includes monitoring sales performance, supporting promotional activities, and ensuring a clean, organized, and safe store environment.
- Operational and retail management skills, including experience with store procedures, cash handling, and inventory control.
- Customer service and communication skills to interact effectively with diverse shoppers and team members.
- Basic merchandising and visual presentation skills to maintain attractive, organized sales floors.
- Team leadership and coaching abilities to support staffing, training, and performance feedback.
- Strong time management, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfort working with point-of-sale systems and basic computer applications.
- Previous retail or resale experience, especially in apparel or accessories, is preferred.
- Ability to stand, move, and lift merchandise throughout shifts as required by store operations.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional retail or business coursework is a plus.
