Job Summary
We are seeking an Account Executive to drive revenue growth in our fastest-growing market segment, Therapeutics. In this role, you will manage and expand existing customer relationships while building new business through a balanced approach to account development and prospecting. Reporting to the Sales Manager for our Therapeutics channel, you will partner cross‑functionally to deliver a strong customer experience—from technical consultation through forecasting and strategic account planning.
Responsibilities- Manage and expand existing customer relationships.
- Build new business through balanced account development and prospecting.
- Provide sales service and technical product consulting on applications, and discover and evaluate new application opportunities to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Represent the company at conferences and trade shows nationally and at times internationally.
- Evaluate market conditions within the region and maintain awareness of national and international market levels, analyzing current prospects for business and forecasting future trends.
- Execute account strategies including pipeline management, forecasting, and planning.
- Maintain accurate sales activity documentation (call reports, expense reports, etc.) in a timely fashion.
- Act as a resource for customers by providing related information and educating them about the various applications of the products.
- Attend conferences and seminars to learn about current developments in research and their potential impact on the products.
- Regularly review industry updates and trends through trade journals.
- Develop skills through training and seminars to enhance the negotiation and selling process.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, sales, marketing, a related science or a related field.
- 2+ years in marketing or sales required; experience in biological sales preferred.
- Strong business acumen.
- Knowledge of market research, sales, and negotiating principles.
- Knowledge of key account strategies/techniques and ability to analyze business trends and product cycles.
- Effective communication with management, research staff, customers, and other business contacts.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills and ability to build relationships.
- Ability to learn, understand, and communicate technical product information to customers and brokers.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously and meet work‑related deadlines.
- Competence in operating necessary office equipment required to accomplish job duties.
- Ability to work daily and extended hours as necessary.
- Ability to travel up to 30%, primarily within the U.S; some potential for international travel.
- Ability to promote teamwork within the sales group and with other departments.
- Maintain corporate and customer confidential information such as formulations and results.
