Warehouse Generalist (Night Shift)

The Warehouse Generalist will provide flexible support across the warehouse and fulfillment functions. The position involves packaging fresh flowers and durable goods, loading and unloading company vehicles, managing route shipments, and maintaining the organized operation of a refrigerated warehouse environment.

Accountable to:
General Manager & Overnight Warehouse Supervisor. Works independently with no direct reports.

• Use proper packing techniques for fresh flowers and durable goods in a refrigerated environment.
• Sort packages by route, customer, or commodity.
• Assist in loading and unloading products onto company vehicles and from inbound carriers.
• Deliver floral products to Hy‑Vee stores and prepare route shipments.
• Operate a dolly, two‑wheel cart, or pallet jack for loading/unloading.
• Keep the packing area clean and move packaging containers to appropriate warehouse locations.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and yearly inventory counts.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as needed, including light to moderate lifting (up to 100 lbs occasionally).
• Report to work on schedule and arrive on time; therefore, work evenings and weekends may be required.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Up to six months of related work experience.
• Ability to carry out written or verbal instructions.
• Basic arithmetic skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
• Read and obey Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) information.
• Adaptability to changing business needs and versatile in handling varied tasks.

• Work in a refrigerated environment.
• Perform light to moderate work, including occasional lifting of 50–100 lbs and frequent lifting of 10–40 lbs.
• Perform activities such as climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pulling, lifting, grasping, and repetitive motions.
• Visual abilities: clarity at all distances, color and peripheral vision, and depth perception.

• Warehouse and shipping systems, scanner, labeler.
• Box cutter/knife, strapping machine, stapler, ladder, cart, pallet jack.
• Other standard warehouse equipment.

The position is performed in a cooler/warehouse setting with constant exposure to refrigerated temperatures, noise, and temperature fluctuations.
