JOB

SUMMARY:

The Accounting Clerkprovidesentrylevelaccountingsupporttothe Finance Department .

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Position Specific:
  • Maintainaccountspayablefiles,including set-upandfilingofcashdisbursements
  • Verifyapplicableinformationfrominvoicestopurchaseordersandshipping documents
  • Distributeinvoicestomanagersandinitiatefollow-upuntilapprovalsare received
  • Assistinpayrollprocessingandapplyingpaymentoffederal,state,andlocal taxes.
  • Assistinpreparingretirementcalculationsandcoordinatingretirementmeetings.
  • AssistintimelydistributionandfilingofW-2and
    1099informationto employees.
  • Ensuretheefficientprocessingoffinancialdocumentsthatflowthroughtheaccountingdepartment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The Accounting Clerk requires a basic understanding of the accounts payable process inthe accounting function.

A working knowledge of spreadsheets and basic accounting reconciliation processes is important.

Theabilitytoadapttheapplicationofcurrentandevolvinginformationtechnologytotheworkload is also required.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Demonstrate strong motivational, time management, problem-solving and organizational skills.

Ability to be detail-oriented. Ability to work independently under general supervision. Ability to exercise independent judgement and to keep information confidential.

COMPUTER

SKILLS:

Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office software products specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

CUSTOMER SERVICE

SKILLS:

Stronginterpersonalskillstofosterteamworkandcreatepositiveconnectionswith customers. Ability to meet goals to increase efficiency improving customer service.

MINIMUMEDUCATIONAND

EXPERIENCE:

High School Diplomaorequivalent .One(1) tothree(3) years
¿ experienceworkinginanorganizedoffice environment.

SKILLS:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to read, analyze and interpret commonbusinessjournals,financialreportsandlightlegaldocuments.
