Responsibilities
- The Accountant is responsible for maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the Bank's financial records through the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and support of month-end and year-end close activities.
- Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), regulatory requirements, tax laws, and internal policies while supporting the Bank's financial reporting objectives.
- Partner with internal departments to analyze financial information, resolve discrepancies, improve processes, and provide timely, accurate financial data to management.
- Prepare, review, and post recurring and non-recurring journal entries to the general ledger.
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required.
- At least one year of accounting experience at a financial services or mortgage banking institution required.
- Proficiency with Excel.
- Knowledge of GAAP.
