A great UHY client is seeking a Interim
Payroll Analyst to join their team in Ann Arbor, Michigan. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented payroll professional to support accurate and timely payroll processing while partnering with HR, Finance, and employees to resolve payroll-related questions and issues.
The Interim Payroll Analyst role is based in Ann Arbor, MI and will be responsible for supporting payroll operations, maintaining accurate employee payroll records, reviewing payroll data, and ensuring compliance with applicable policies and regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience working with payroll systems in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities- Process and review payroll information to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
- Audit payroll data, including earnings, deductions, taxes, benefits, and other adjustments.
- Research and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries.
- Maintain accurate payroll and employee records.
- Assist with payroll reconciliations and reporting.
- Partner with Human Resources and Finance to ensure payroll information is accurate and up to date.
- Support payroll-related audits and compliance requirements.
- Monitor payroll processes and identify opportunities for improved efficiency and accuracy.
- Assist with year-end payroll activities, including W-2 preparation and reporting.
- Stay current on applicable payroll regulations, tax requirements, and company policies.
- Perform other payroll and accounting-related duties as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business, or a related field preferred.
- 2+ years of payroll experience; experience in a payroll analyst or similar analytical role preferred.
- Strong understanding of payroll processing, deductions, taxes, and reconciliations.
- Experience working with payroll or HRIS systems.
- Strong Excel skills, including the ability to analyze and reconcile large amounts of data.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive employee and payroll information.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
