The Part Time Facilities Design & Construction Assistant provides support in the operation of the Design & Construction Department under Facilities Management during a temporary 16‑week assignment beginning summer 2026.
EssentialJob Duties and Responsibilities
- Call vendors and coordinate finish samples in the library.
- Organize computer files and update documents using MS Office.
- Assist in meeting with contractors on site.
- Familiarize with current projects and understand the scope of work.
- Measure rooms and inventory spaces on campus.
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail in a fast‑paced environment.
- Utilize technology, including AI‑enabled tools, to support duties and maintain confidentiality.
- Perform other functions as requested by the supervisor.
- Work in an office and on campus sites.
- Ability to sit, stand, or walk for moderate periods.
- Must be able to push, pull, or lift up to 20 pounds.
- Must be able to read floor plans.
- High School graduate or GED equivalent.
- Basic word processing, database, and email skills using MS Office.
- Keyboard proficiency and screen reading ability.
- Comfortable with emerging AI‑supported tools and able to evaluate AI outputs with confidentiality and ethical judgment.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Experience with design and construction projects.
- Knowledge of campus facilities and construction terminology.
Salary: $17.21 per hour.
