The Graduate Student Affairs Office in the School of Kinesiology is seeking a Financial Aid and Graduate Student Services Coordinator. This position will report to the Director of Student Affairs and work closely with our Graduate Affairs Staff and students to provide the highest level of service and expertise pertaining to financial aid, scholarships, fellowships, and award processing. The coordinator will also provide general overall administrative assistance to the staff and graduate committee.
Responsibilities- Student Financial Coordination (35%)
- Coordinate the evaluation and processing of grants available to Kinesiology graduate students.
- Work in conjunction with Rackham Graduate School and internal Kinesiology offices to process the workflow efficiently using Wrike and other systems as needed. (EF)
- Process scholarship applications and awards. This will start with collecting scholarship conditions, putting a call out for applications, preparing applications for review and disseminating the applications to the graduate faculty and/or staff for review, tabulating the review scores and notifying students of award decisions. Use Wrike and other systems as needed to move student awards through processing. (EF)
- Coordinate all Rackham Graduate School fellowships and awards for our students using Rackham's financial system and communicate application due dates and opportunities.
- Coordinate the application process with the students and evaluation process with faculty. (EF)
- Meet one on one with students to serve as an advisor for student financial concerns. Counsel students on the application process for financial aid, financial aid policies and budgeting.
- Coordinate and expand external funding and scholarship opportunities; track and share them with students, and keep the website and internal materials up to date with new awards.
- Plan and deliver financial aid resources, events, info sessions and workshops for prospective and current students. (EF)
- Admissions and Academic Support (35%)
- Process all Athletic Training applications from the National Athletic Training Accrediting body's common application, ATCAS, into the UM system. (EF)
- Assist with processing prospective student information in Salesforce. (EF)
- Track inventory of recruiting materials and order as necessary.
- Assist with processing all prerequisite request forms. (EF)
- Administrative Support Tasks (30%)
- Assist with events as needed. (EF)
- Assist with tracking alumni career outcomes in the online portal. (EF)
- Replenish office supplies for doctoral student suite and staff.
- Create a weekly newsletter for students in Mailchimp. (EF)
- Assist in tracking expenses in the graduate affairs budget. (EF)
- Assist in maintaining the graduate student affairs portion of the website.
- Schedule meetings for the Office of Graduate Student Affairs and graduate committee. (EF)
- Provide high level administrative support as a collaborative member of the Graduate Student Affairs Office. (EF)
- Associate degree or equivalent combination of education, certification and experience.
- 2+ years of professional experience in a related role as an administrator or coordinator.
- Experience coordinating administrative processes, managing project timelines, or driving workflow improvements.
- Strong attention to detail with a proven commitment to data accuracy and integrity.
- High level of proficiency with technology and software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Google Workspace, Adobe Acrobat, Zoom).
