Job Description
Clerk II-Transportation – 10 months – 217 days – 8 hrs/day – $17.63/hr – 8:00am-5:00pm – Replacing Kimberly Stefan
Position SummaryPerforms a wide variety of clerical support services to facilitate the efficient operation of Pupil Transportation, while maintaining confidentiality.
Duties and Responsibilities- Answers phones and two-way radio calls. Maintains phone log. Checks voicemails throughout the day.
- Processes and prepares field trip invoicing.
- Update and maintain files containing field trip maps, driver directions, trip information and locations.
- Processes work orders and requests.
- Creates and maintains student files and updates log.
- Assists parents with Transportation App and changes passwords.
- Assists Drivers and other Transportation staff on personnel needs.
- Prepares and maintains monthly calendars for drivers.
- Operate office machines, such as photocopiers, scanners, computers, printers, calculators, facsimile machines, voicemail systems, and telephones.
- Communicate with customers, employees, students, and other individuals to answer questions, disseminate or explain information and address complaints.
This position requires high school diploma or equivalent.
Experience- No previous clerical experience required.
- One year of related experience providing clerical support in an office setting preferred.
- Knowledge of basic math, required.
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer services, required.
- Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, spreadsheets, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures, required.
- Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar, required.
- Ability to read and interpret district policies, guidelines, handbook and government regulations, required.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence, required.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form, required.
- Ability and willingness to learn different software systems, required.
- Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work in a fast‑paced work environment, required.
- Ability and willingness to work cooperatively with teachers, community, students and staff, required.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English to perform essential job duties, including but not limited to understanding and following safety instructions, responding appropriately to emergency situations, completing documentation, and interacting with English‑speaking staff, students, community and supervisors, required.

- Basic Power School, preferred.
- Versa Trans/Trans Finder, preferred.
Keyboarding, Basic Word Processing, Basic Spreadsheet programs, Basic Math, Alpha Filing, Customer Service, Proofreading are required. Basic Power School is preferred.
Physical DemandsThe employee must sit use hands to finger, handle, or feel; talk and hear. Must occasionally stand, walk, reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds of files and materials. Must use concentration on a computer screen and small numbers requiring close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
