The position is a 12-month assignment with potential for a 6-month extension.
Our office is located at 309 Maynard Street in Ann Arbor, Michigan. This position offers the option to work on-site or in a hybrid format (remote and on-site).

Who you areThe ideal candidate is naturally curious, highly organized, and enjoys analyzing documentation to solve complex problems. They have a keen eye for detail, are comfortable applying established business rules consistently, questioning those business rules when something doesn't fit, identifying new processes that improve the work, and take pride in producing accurate, reliable data. Their work will directly support the college's ability to report campaign progress, steward donor funds responsibly, and honor donor intent (DI).
What you'll doThe Temporary DI (Donor Intent) Data Integrity Specialist will support a high-priority donor intent data initiative that directly advances the college's campaign reporting and financial compliance goals. This position is responsible for reviewing complex gift agreements and related documentation to identify, interpret, and document donor intent within the university's donor database. The work performed in this role enables accurate campaign reporting, strengthens stewardship of donor funds, supports financial compliance, and helps ensure the college honors donor intent.
Ultimately, your efforts directly enhance the college's capacity to engage stakeholders, maximize funding impact, and achieve the ambitious goals of its
campaign initiatives. You'll report directly to the Director of Advancement Business Solutions.
- Review gift agreements and supporting documentation for gift funds.
- Analyze donor documentation to identify and interpret donor intent.
- Determine and apply donor intent reporting attributes in accordance with established business rules.
- Organize and standardize donor intent information to ensure consistency across fund records.
- Enter donor intent reporting attributes into the university's donor database with a high degree of accuracy.
- Research and resolve inconsistencies or missing information by consulting available documentation and established procedures.
- Conduct audits of fund records to ensure purpose categories and donor intent internal summaries are accurate, and to ensure donor fund information is up to date.
- Maintain documentation of completed work and support continuous improvement of donor intent data standards and processes.
- Collaborate with Advancement Business Solutions staff and campus partners to ensure accurate interpretation and documentation of donor intent.
- Associate's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Demonstrated experience performing detailed, accuracy-driven work involving complex documentation or data.
