DescriptionResponsible for executing commodity strategies or leading the development and implementation of Localization and Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VA/VE) strategies. Manage and optimize the supply base to ensure supplier performance consistently meets or exceeds NSSA requirements.
Responsibilities
- Manage assigned commodities within the NSK supply base, including resolving supplier issues, addressing price discrepancies, processing purchase order changes, and supporting plant-supplier communication.
- Coordinate and issue RFQs (Requests for Quotation) to suppliers for both new and existing programs; maintain accurate RFQ logs and track supplier responses.
- Monitor, validate, and report supplier cost-savings initiatives within assigned commodities.
- Participate in cross-functional NSK meetings to gather and communicate information that supports informed business decisions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field required.
- 0-5 years of relevant professional experience.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external suppliers.
- Demonstrated interest in learning, professional growth, and building a career in supply chain or procurement.
- Motivated individual who is eager to contribute and make a meaningful impact.
Work Location
- This position is based in the Ann Arbor office with a hybrid schedule (3 days in office, 2 days remote).
- During the onboarding period, additional in-office days will be required to support training and integration.
