Responsibilities

Responsible for the coordination of pre-award activities relating to grant and contract proposals.

Pre-Award Duties will involve assisting faculty with the grant submission process, from initial start to final submission, including development of timelines for various components, the development, preparation, and submission of research proposals (Budgets and Other proposal documents). Ensure that proposals meet sponsor & university guidelines. Preparing Proposal Approval Forms. Coordinate proposal activities between multiple PIs, departments and/or universities/external entities. Assist investigators with filling out MTAs, DUAs, CDAs, obtain the necessary signatures and route the UFAs.

Meeting critical due dates, as set forth by the Med School, ORSP & Sponsor. Provide progress reporting and RPPR support.

The Department of Pediatrics has 3 active T-32s and a K-12. We are seeking a person who is not intimidated by the requirements involved in submitting renewals of training/career develop grants. This person will be an integral part of our T-32/K-12 submission/reporting/maintaining team.

Additionally, this position will serve as the Pediatric Research Office (PRO) lead for establishing and amending subcontracts at post-award in eRPM. Therefore, experience working with OCA on developing subcontracts and hybrid POs is a plus.

Though not a requirement for applying to this posting, we are also seeking individuals with IRB knowledge and experience.

This position is part of the Department of Pediatrics Research Office consolidated services. This is a customer service-oriented position and requires a person who will make providing quality service and ensuring discretion their priority.

Other Duties may include, but are not limited to: JIT requests, managing biosketches/OS documents, assisting PIs with RPPRs, prepare sponsored projects required reporting documents, data mining using Business Objects, MSTATS, Tableau, navigating online searches for required information, creating tools and templates to further efficiencies in the Pediatric Research Office, duties and special projects as assigned by Senior Manager and Associate Chair for Research.

  • Senior Level: A minimum of 5 years of research administration related experience is required.
  • Intermediate Level: A minimum of 3 years of research administration related experience is required.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor?s degree and 5 - 7 years of grant and contract experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to interpret and communicate Department, University, and Sponsor guidelines and policies. Employees in this classification typically analyze, compare, and evaluate various courses of action and have the authority to make independent decisions on matters of significance, free from immediate direction, within the scope of their responsibilities.
