About this position:Baker Publishing Group is accepting applications for the position of Associate Publicist, supporting several divisions of Baker Publishing Group and primarily Baker Academic. In cooperation with the publicity manager and in-house colleagues, the person in this position will assist in publicity planning for Baker Academic and pastoral resource titles, mailings, printing and coordinating press materials. This role will work closely with the publicity manager and help the company meet its goals.
Responsibilities:Characteristic activities include creating media lists, shipping books from the warehouse, coordinating the printing of press materials and labels, tracking media hits, scheduling interviews for authors, pulling excerpts, uploading press releases to BPG website and manuscripts to Net Galley, creating press kits, conducting media research as needed, working with outside vendors as needed, and handling publicity campaigns as necessary.
Qualifications:- BA degree with coursework in pertinent fields such as public relations, marketing, communications, and journalism.
- Conversant in issues of evangelical Christianity and subject matters including theology and biblical studies
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and exercise sound professional judgment
- Strong organizational, follow-up, and project management skills
- Proven organizational abilities, follow-through, and project management skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and tight deadlines
