The get Downtown Program provides commuting programs and services to downtown Ann Arbor employees and employers. A program of The Ride, get Downtown's partners include the City of Ann Arbor and the Ann Arbor DDA. The Program Assistant supports existing and new programs that encourage commuters to travel by bus, bike, carpool, walking, and more to reduce traffic congestion. The focus of the work will be customer communications, program support, and data entry.

The Program Assistant can expect to interact with professionals in the government, nonprofit, and business arenas. Skills practiced during the position will relate directly to careers in business, marketing, communications, public administration, sustainability, urban planning, and public relations.

• Communicate with stakeholders by making phone calls and responding to emails
• Manage contact lists and stakeholder information in Microsoft Excel
• Prepare content for social media and newsletters
• Coordinating or supporting events including organizing event materials
• Representing the program at local meetings and events
• Note taking during staff and committee meetings

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, public administration, urban planning, public relations, or a related field
• Ability to work in-person between the hours of 9:00am and 5:00pm
• Professional email, phone, and in-person communication skills
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
• Ability to learn and apply procedures accurately
• Willingness to ask questions and contribute ideas
• Ability to work independently to complete assignments
• Experience with video editing and fluency in Spanish preferred

Transportation Demand Lead

• Frequent periods of sitting and use of hands/fingers
• Occasional periods of standing, walking, reaching, squatting, kneeling, and bending.
