Position Overview
Project Controls Estimator I
- Responsible for developing and reviewing capital, construction and service cost estimates across Waste, Power and Industrial markets. Focus on crew-based approach, quantity takeoffs, estimate database management, and documentation of basis and assumptions.
- Develop, evaluate, compile, and present scope and cost data for construction and project estimates.
- Work on estimates ranging from order-of-magnitude for planning, preliminary for study, to definitive for proposals.
- Demonstrate understanding of construction plans and specifications when preparing cost estimates.
- Ensure completeness and accuracy of estimates within defined parameters.
- Develop estimates for any part or the whole project, or for project changes.
- Coordinate with design and construction staff to obtain estimate scope and schedule data.
- Perform other duties as needed.
- Certifications:
AEP, CCT, CEP, CACM, CMIT, PSP, EVP, PMI-SP, EIT. - Knowledge of estimating software such as Sage, Assemble, RS Means.
- Experience in construction industry, especially Waste, Power or Industrial sectors.
- Ability to interpret construction schedules.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Science Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Fundamental knowledge of General Contracting, EPC construction methods, processes, and procedures, plus general construction industry methods, terminology, and organizational structure.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, cost estimating, and project control software.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Commitment to the employee-owned culture.
