You’ll work closely with our Salesperson/Lead Designer, supporting the design process behind the scenes from concept development through documentation, scope definition, and estimating coordination.

We are a design-to-build interior remodeling company serving the Ann Arbor area since 2003, known for efficient timelines, an organized process, and a team culture where people build long-term careers.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Hourly pay: $22–$30+ per hour
    , based on experience
  • Full benefits package, health, dental, vision, 401(k) with company match, supplemental insurance, paid vacation and holidays, training, and team events
  • Primarily in-person role, with potential flexibility once you’re well established
Role Summary

The Salesperson/Lead Designer owns the client relationship, leads client meetings, and sets the overall design direction and key material decisions. Your role is to execute the “leg work” that makes the design clear, coordinated, and ready to price and build. This will include researching, documenting, detailing, clarifying scope, and supporting estimating through finalized contract pricing. While the Salesperson/Lead Designer manages the client relationship, the Associate will provide design center coverage during assigned floor time, greeting walk-ins and fielding incoming calls, then connecting the Salesperson/Lead Designer when appropriate.

What

You’ll Do Design Development & Documentation
  • Welcome walk-ins and answer incoming phone calls during assigned floor time and collect basic project information, document notes, and route opportunities/questions to the Salesperson/Lead Designer
  • Collaborate with the Lead Designer to develop the design concept into a complete solution
  • Produce and maintain accurate design documentation (plans, elevations, 3D views as needed)
  • Update designs as selections and scope evolve, ensuring documentation stays aligned
Research, Selections Support & Vendor Coordination
  • Research materials/products and build curated option sets that align with the Lead Designer’s direction, budget, and lead times
  • Gather specs, installation requirements, and lead-time details from suppliers/manufacturers
  • Prepare selection summaries and documentation for internal review and client presentation by the Lead Designer
Scope of Work & Estimating Support
  • Develop and refine the scope of work based on the design and selections
  • Work with estimating to align drawings/specs/scope and finalize contract pricing
  • Help organize alternates, allowances, and clarifications so the contract is clean and buildable
Team Collaboration
  • Partner closely with the Salesperson/Lead Designer, estimating, and production to keep projects moving forward
  • Track details, follow-ups, and open items, raising issues early to prevent downstream surprises
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience supporting kitchen & bath design and/or producing design documentation
  • Comfortable with light client-facing responsibilities in a showroom environment (phone calls, walk-ins, professional intake and handoff)
  • Pro Kitchen proficiency preferred
  • Strong spatial reasoning and ability to translate concepts into precise documentation
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple active projects
  • Solid computer skills and comfort learning systems/tools
  • Ability to travel locally as needed (mileage reimbursed)
  • Associate degree in a related field or equivalent experience (Bachelor’s preferred, not required)
Who Will Thrive in this Role
  • You’re a “details person” who enjoys making a plan airtight
  • You communicate clearly, follow through, and bring solutions not drama
  • You like supporting a lead and taking ownership of the behind-the-scenes work that makes the whole team look good
