ASAP About the Position A growing health plan in Dallas, TX is seeking a dedicated, experienced Associate Medical Director (OB/GYN) to support clinical operations and improve access to high-quality, affordable care for underserved communities. Key Responsibilities Review prior authorizations, appeals, and medical necessity determinations Conduct peer-to-peer provider consultations Provide clinical oversight for utilization management, quality initiatives, and disease management programs Assist in developing policies, procedures, and clinical standards based on evidence-based guidelines Analyze provider and practice data to evaluate performance and support credentialing Collaborate with pharmacy leadership on care integration between medical and pharmacy benefits Support fraud, waste, and abuse program operations Represent the organization to state and community stakeholders when assigned Participate in continuous quality improvement and process optimization across clinical workflows Develop, implement, and evaluate annual departmental goals Support provider and member education initiatives Serve on internal committees and cross-functional groups Mentor and support multidisciplinary team members Maintain regulatory, compliance, and accreditation standards
Required Qualifications Board Certified OB/GYN Texas medical license (or willingness to obtain) Experience in managed care and prior authorization Experience in or ability to lead multidisciplinary teams Working knowledge of Texas Medicaid Regulations Clean malpractice & license history (highly preferred) Experience participating in UM committees (preferred) Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Ability to interpret regulations, manage confidential information, and make data-driven decisions Skills & Attributes Strong understanding of managed care models Excellent communication with executives, providers, and community stakeholders Ability to interpret treatment plans and apply medical judgment to operational decisions Knowledge of care coordination, population health, SDOH, and value-based care strategies Calm, adaptable, detail-oriented, and solutions-focused Proficiency with technology and clinical review systems Compensation & Benefits Competitive, customizable compensation package (To be discussed during interview - providers encouraged to share expectations) Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage 401(k) plan Flexible schedule & work-life balance Opportunities for advancement in a rapidly growing, mission-aligned organization Why This Role Stands Out This position is ideal for OB/GYN physicians who want to make a broader impact outside of traditional clinical practice—improving systems, shaping policy, and advocating for vulnerable populations while working in a stable, supportive environment.
