We are seeking paid Student Team members to help lead our student event and engagement activities.Student Engagement Team Member
As a member of the MSU Alumni Offices student engagement team, the successful candidate(s) will:
- Serve as a main facilitator of our community service/volunteer programs including the Spartan Days of Service and Spartys Kind Kids
- Recruit student organizations and programs to participate in alumni initiatives
- Create, plan, and implement programs and activities for current MSU students
- Assist with the University Advancement (UA) Student Ambassador program; opportunity to serve as an ambassador
- Represent the Alumni Office at student organization meetings, campus events, and university programs
- Identify opportunities for the MSUA to collaborate and partner with student focused initiatives, programs, and events
- Assist and lead activities coordinated with university partners
- Understand the importance of philanthropy; assist with university wide giving days
- Have effective oral communication skills
- Possess excellent writing and communication skills
Qualifications:
- Possess the ability to work well with a variety of people representing diverse audiences and perspectives.
- Willingness to learn and understand University news and developments as well as MSUAO programming.
- Demonstrated skill in handling multiple tasks, and highly organized
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Self-starter who can proactively build relationships across the campus community.
- Must be able to work a minimum of 10 hours per week, with availability in the evenings and on weekends, depending on event schedules
* Applicants must be current undergraduate students
The Student Engagement TeamMembers of the Engagement Team are responsible for our campus wide engagement activities. In this role you will serve as our primary liaison for all interactions, programming, and partnerships with registered student organizations and student focused university initiatives. You will be expected to build and maintain a strong and diverse student network that promotes leadership and service while strengthening ties to Michigan State University.
All members of the Engagement Team are expected to promote the following initiatives and/or partnerships throughout the campus community – Spartan Days of Service;
Homecoming;
Give Green Day; career and professional development opportunities; and alumni integration into current programming.
