Job Summary:The Art Teacher is responsible for providing engaging instruction in visual arts, fostering creativity, critical thinking, and artistic expression among students. This role involves traveling as teaching will take place at North Aurelius Elementary and Alaiedon Elementary.
Required Qualifications:- Current Michigan Teaching Certificate.
- Established record of positive attitude and rapport with students.
- Demonstrate effective lesson design and instructional techniques.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Collaborative/Growth orientated.
- Knowledge in the use of formative and summative assessment data to inform instruction.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the use of technology to support instruction and enhance student achievement.
- Ability to work effectively with colleagues regarding curriculum, instruction, interventions, and assessment.
- Willingness to learn new skills, to be reflective, and to acquire new knowledge along with evidence of being flexible and having superior problem-solving skills.
- Evidence of being highly organized and having excellent time-management skills.
Qualifications:
- Endorsement: LX, LQ, or LZ Art Education
- Experience working in collaborative teams or in a Professional Learning Community.
- Demonstrate effective classroom management skills.
- Knowledge of implementing PBIS initiatives in the classroom.
- Strength in utilizing innovative teaching strategies.
- Possess a flexible, creative, energetic personality.
- Possess up-to-date instructional technology knowledge and skill.
- This position requires long periods of standing, sitting, and walking.
- The position requires occasional lifting of supplies and movement of classroom furnishings during the course of the school day.
- Work takes place both indoors and outdoors, with the possibility of some travel to other schools or field trip locations.
Beginning with the 26-27 School Year
Wages:Per the MDME Bargaining unit agreement
Benefits:Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Long Term Disability Insurance, School Retirement, Paid Sick and Personal Days per the bargaining unit contract
