• High School Diploma required; 2 years college preferred.
• Experienced Para educator with background assisting a student with disabilities.
• General knowledge of high school curriculum in reading, writing, math, and science and skills in these areas at the K‑8 level.
• Positive, upbeat, caring, flexible; able to adjust to the physical and emotional needs of the student.
• Cooperative, dependable, shows initiative, and accepts direction.
• Knowledge of computer‑assisted instruction and typing is desirable.
• C.P.I. training with current record on file or willingness to be trained.
• Able to lift at least 50 pounds, stoop, bend, kneel, and physically manage the student if necessary.

• Assist student in the general education classroom with note taking, testing, etc.
• Assist in encouraging independent toileting.
• Assist with student’s participation in small groups as directed by the classroom teacher.
• Assist in checking and correcting papers and preparing materials under the teacher’s direction.
• Assist with audio‑visual and computer setups and operation.
• Monitor instruction activities of the student and assist as appropriate or as directed by the classroom teacher.
• Assist caseload teacher with daily home‑school assignment book/log.

• Assist student at lunch time.
• Maintain flexible hours and adjust working time to the student’s needs as determined by the classroom teacher and other staff.
• Assist teacher in maintaining inventory of equipment, supplies, and materials.
• Assist in maintaining files and records.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervising teacher, special education coordinator, and building administrator.
