Position

Description:

The United Association Instructor position is for the UA Instructor Training Program that runs for one week only (8/5/26-8/10/26) on Campus in Ann Arbor, MI.Essential

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Establish and maintain environment conducive to student learning.
• Prepare for and instruct assigned course(s) through the use of appropriate learning experiences and materials which provide the opportunity to meet overall course objectives and program goals.
• Adhere to course syllabus and comply with Assessment of Student Academic Achievement.
• Evaluate student progress through day to day evaluation, written examinations and overall observation.
• Grade assignments in a meaningful way to promote continued student growth, returning graded assignments to students in a timely manner, and assigning final grades for all students, meeting or beating all institutional deadlines for completion.
• Actively support student success through guidance, advising and assisting individual students as needed.
• Participate in professional activities including, but not limited to, curriculum planning, examination development, textbook selection, program evaluation/revision and other professional planning activities.
• Participate in the Student Opinion Questionnaire (SOQ) process.
• Maintain levels of professional knowledge and expertise, including compliance training.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Hours/

Schedule:

Teaching assignments vary according to class schedules- classes will run for one week only (8/9/25-8/15/26). The terms of employment are based on class enrollment.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Earned Associate's degree or higher from a regionally-accredited institution in HVAC, Industrial Technology, Plumbing, Pipe fitting, Sheet metal Fabrication, Sprinkler Fitting, Fire Suppression, Welding Technology, or related field required. Minimum 5 years fulltime work experience required. A Department of Labor, Bureau for Apprenticeship Training recognized Journeyman's card certification in HVAC, Industrial Technology, Plumbing, Pipe fitting, Sheet metal Fabrication, Sprinkler Fitting, Fire Suppression, Welding or related trade.

High School Diploma or GED may be considered with a minimum of 10 years full-time work experience and certification as above.
• Able to teach during UA Instructor Training Program (8/5/26-8/10/26).
• Trade related teaching experience.
• Ability to communicate both written and verbally in a professional manner.

Salary/Hourly Rate:
$69.66

Salary Comments:

Professional Instructor (Non-Adjunct) $995 per one (1) course contact hour

The course contact hour divided by 15 equals the clock hour rate (i.e., $1,045/15 = $69.66)
