Education and Experience- Bachelor's degree in education
- Valid, current Michigan teaching certificate with an endorsement in Mathematics (EX) K-12, Grades 6-12
- Teach district‑approved curriculum
- Meet and instruct assigned classes in the locations and times designated
- Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students
- Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students
- Encourage students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior
- Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and in harmony with the goals establishing clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects, and the like to communicate these objectives to students
- Diagnose the learning disabilities of students
- Evaluate pupils' academic and social growth, keep appropriate records, and prepare progress reports
- Conduct parent‑teacher conferences for education‑related purposes outside the instructional day
- Supervise classroom and students
- Other duties may be assigned
- Read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
- Communicate effectively and present information both in oral and in written form
- Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Interpret an extensive variety of statistical information and data related to student achievement

- Interact with public and other staff as required
- Apply knowledge of current replicated research and techniques related to sensory issues

Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision such as to read handwritten or typed material, and the ability to adjust focus. The position requires the individual to meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and other staff.
