Special Education Teacher - North Chicago, IL (2024-25 School Year)
Pro Care Therapy is currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher for the 2024-25 school year in North Chicago, IL. This role involves providing exceptional education and support to students with diverse learning needs, ensuring they achieve their full potential in a supportive and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Adapt and modify the general education curriculum to meet the individual needs of students.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and other staff to support student learning.
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records.
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods and resources to engage students in learning.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and goals.
- Provide a safe and positive learning environment for all students.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special education.
- Bachelor's or Masters degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Valid state Special Education teaching license.
- Previous experience working with students with special needs is preferred.
- Strong understanding of special education laws and regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Passion for helping students succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.
