Part time Professional Service - Police Academy
We are establishing a qualified pool of candidates to assist instructors with in‑person Police Academy credit courses. Candidates will be considered for future part‑time / on‑call teaching opportunities on a per‑course basis.
EssentialJob Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist instructor in coaching students in basic police training related topics and skills.
- Monitor student performance to make suggestions/corrections for improvement and to ensure satisfactory course standards, training requirements, and state licensing standards.
- Work individually and with other instructors to review and evaluate individual students and their progress.
- Maintain accurate and complete student records as required.
- Attend campus regularly.
- Utilize technology, including AI‑enabled tools, to support teaching, learning, student engagement, and other responsibilities consistent with academic standards and institutional policies.
- Other duties as assigned.
On‑campus work varying hours; not to exceed 20 hours per week.
Minimum Qualifications- Minimum 3 years full‑time work experience; bachelor’s degree from regionally accredited institution in Criminal Justice or related field; past/current law enforcement or corrections license or industry‑recognised professional certification required.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively present, teach, and coach basic police training curriculum at the basic police academy level.
- Ability to function well in an adult learning environment.
- Curriculum subject area knowledge or personal experience through years of service, specialised training, or education.
- Demonstrated ability to use technology relevant to the discipline; capacity to evaluate AI‑generated content and maintain confidentiality.
Additional experience and certifications may be considered.
Salary / Hourly Rate$42.21 per hour.
