Position OverviewWe are seeking part-time Instructors to teach 2D Studio Art credit courses in the 2025 Fall Semester. Preference will be given to candidates able to teach on campus. Opportunities may become available each semester, and applicants will be considered on a per-course basis.
EssentialJob Duties and Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain an environment conducive to student learning.
- Prepare for and instruct assigned course(s) through appropriate learning experiences and materials to meet course objectives and program goals.
- Adhere to the master course syllabus and art curriculum required for Assessment of Student Academic Achievement.
- Evaluate student progress through day‑to‑day evaluation, written examinations, and overall observation.
- Grade assignments in a meaningful way to promote student growth, returning graded assignments to students promptly, and assigning final grades meeting institutional deadlines.
- Actively support student success through guidance, advising, and assistance as needed.
- Participate in professional activities such as curriculum planning, examination development, textbook selection, program evaluation/revision, and other professional planning activities.
- Participate in the Student Opinion Questionnaire (SOQ) process.
- Maintain professional knowledge and expertise, including compliance training.
- Utilize technology, including AI‑enabled tools, to support teaching, learning, student engagement, professional responsibilities, institutional service, and other duties, in a manner consistent with academic standards, professional ethics, confidentiality requirements, and institutional policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Schedules vary according to class schedules. Employment terms are based on college enrollment and class enrollment.
Minimum Qualifications- Earned Master’s degree, MFA, or higher from a regionally accredited institution in Art or visual arts discipline, OR master’s degree with a minimum of 18 graduate credits in Art or visual arts discipline.
- Demonstrated ability to use technology relevant to the discipline and faculty role, including the capacity to learn and appropriately utilize emerging AI‑supported tools. Ability to evaluate the accuracy, reliability, and appropriateness of AI‑generated content, maintain confidentiality where required, exercise professional and academic judgment, and uphold ethical standards in the use of technology for teaching, learning, and service.
- Recent, successful post‑secondary teaching experience in Studio Art courses.
$69.66 per hour.
