Adjunct Lecturer Position

The School of Music, Theatre & Dance seeks qualified applicants for an Adjunct lecturer position to co-direct the University of Michigan Percussion Ensemble during the  academic year. Students in the ensemble include undergraduate and graduate percussion majors who perform contemporary percussion repertoire and collaborate with lecturer on new creative projects.

Duration of appointment - Fall 26 and Winter 27

Effort % - 25%

Start date of appt - 8/31/26

Expected date of offer - 7/22/26

The successful candidate should have previous university-level experience coaching percussion ensembles, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to curate repertoire appropriate for the ensemble.

The candidate will work closely with the SMTD Percussion Faculty and the SMTD Concerts and Events team.

This position requires regular on-campus presence.

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Lecturers Employee Organization, AFL-CIO, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
