Under the direction of the administrator and in accordance with the established policies and procedures of the Ingham Intermediate School Board of Education, evaluates children referred as potentially eligible for special education services and programs.
- Serves as a member of the multidisciplinary evaluation team and assists in the comprehensive assessment of students suspected of having a disability as outlined in the Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education.
- Understands assessment methods including but not limited to progress monitoring, curriculum-based measurement, and formative assessment. This may include participation in problem‑solving teams and requires knowledge of data collection and tiered systems of interventions.
- Supports staff in identifying and using research‑based instructional practices.
- Approval by the Michigan Department of Education as a teacher consultant with a valid teaching certificate with special education endorsement or eligible for approval.
- Master's Degree in education or a field of study related to special education and 3 to 5 years of successful teaching experience, not less than two years of which is teaching in a special education classroom.
