Part Time Nursing Instructor Trainer
Washtenaw Community College seeks a part-time Nursing Instructor Trainer to teach non-credit Corporate Training courses on a scheduled or as-needed basis.
- Establish and maintain an environment conducive to student learning.
- Prepare for and instruct assigned courses using appropriate learning experiences and materials that provide the opportunity to meet overall objectives and program goals.
- Adhere to the course syllabus and comply with assessment criteria.
- Evaluate student progress through day‑to‑day evaluation, written examinations, and overall observation.
- Grade assignments and assign final grades in a timely manner, meeting institutional deadlines.
- Actively support student success through guidance, advising, and assistance to individual students as needed.
- Participate in professional activities including curriculum planning, examination development, textbook selection, program evaluation/revision, and other professional planning activities.
- Participate in the Student Opinion Questionnaire (SOQ) process.
- Maintain levels of professional knowledge and expertise, including compliance training.
- Utilize technology, including AI‑enabled tools and software, where appropriate, consistent with academic standards, professional ethics, confidentiality, and university policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Hours / Schedule
Hours vary based on class schedule(s). Employment terms are based on class enrollment.
Minimum Qualifications
- Earned Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from a regionally accredited institution.
- Minimum three years of Nursing experience.
- Current Michigan registered‑nursing license.
- Availability to teach during evenings or weekends.
Preferred Qualifications
- Earned Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree from a regionally accredited institution.
- Recent, successful post‑secondary teaching experience in Nursing courses.
- Experience with simulation and technology.
- Online, remote, or virtual teaching experience.
- QM Teaching Online certification.
- Demonstrated ability to use technology relevant to the discipline and faculty role, including evaluation of AI‑generated content and maintenance of confidentiality.
Salary
$50 per hour.
