Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide course instruction and demonstration in an in‑person and/or online set‑up.
- Develop learning plans and appropriate content based on participant needs.
- Communicate with multiple stakeholders including participants, community partners, and program manager.
- If teaching online, work with IT to set up and maintain a professional and seamless presentation of virtual classes.
- Support the stated mission, goals, policies and regulations of WCC.
- Support and abide by local, state, and federal laws that affect the College.
- Attend a mandatory orientation session and complete online compliance training.
- Participate in Free College Day biannually.
- Teach live in‑person or online for all scheduled class sessions and respond to participant questions and feedback.
- Complete and return all official course paperwork in a timely manner.
- Keep abreast of developments in the field of specialization and/or instruction and propose new classes annually to Program Manager.
- Prepare, develop, and/or revise curricula based on WCC goals and guidelines, as needed.
- Submit required course outlines, textbooks, instructional materials, and orders for supplies in a timely manner.
- Assist in marketing of all assigned classes.
- Utilize technology, including AI‑enabled tools and software where appropriate, to support effective performance of assigned duties while ensuring compliance with confidentiality requirements, institutional policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Hours vary based on class schedule(s). Terms of employment are based on class enrollment.
Minimum Qualifications- Must be willing and able to teach virtually while maintaining the high‑quality class experience expected of in‑person classes.
- Demonstrated skills or experience in instruction for adults in a variety of professional development areas.
- Demonstrated ability to develop curriculum relating to these categories and best methods to teach these skills to multi‑generational age ranges.
- Ability to teach during evenings or weekends.
– Minimum Requirements
Must be a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in the state of Michigan and/or hold a Master of Social Work Degree (MSW) from a CSWE accredited social work program.
Salary / Hourly Rate$50‑60 per hour.
