LUNCHROOM SUPERVISOR
REPORTS TO: Building Administrator and/or Food Service Director
LOCATION: Ypsilanti Middle School
SALARY: $12.48/hr
SUMMARYResponsible for providing a safe, clean and orderly lunch period for all students.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE- Work with building administrators, other kitchen staff, and school personnel.
- Supervise students from their arrival in the lunch line to their departure from the lunch room.
- Teach students where to be in line and where to sit in the lunchroom.
- Know school safety procedures and emergency information.
- Maintain positive communication with students and meet their needs.
- Wash tables, wipe up spills and teach good manners at lunch.
- Maintain a pleasant environment in the lunchroom.
- Be receptive to the special needs of students' diets.
- Assist students in any way they may need while in the lunchroom.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the building administrator and/or Food Service Director.
Other duties may be assigned.
PHYSICAL DEMANDSWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and talk or hear and sometimes to walk and sit. Occasionally, the employee will bend or twist at the neck more than the average person. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally push or lift up to 50 lbs., such as boxes and carts.
WORKENVIRONMENT
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. The employee is frequently required to interact with the public and other staff. The employee is directly responsible for students' safety, well-being, and work output.
