Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare assigned practicum courses using appropriate instructional materials and strategies that align with course objectives and program goals.
- Adhere to the approved course syllabus and comply with institutional policies related to the Assessment of Student Academic Achievement.
- Evaluate student performance through practicum observations (in-person or via video) to assess progress toward learning outcomes.
- Provide timely, specific, and constructive feedback to support student growth and goal setting.
- Maintain consistent communication with students and program faculty to ensure alignment of expectations and instructional support.
- Create a professional and supportive learning environment that promotes confidence, reflection, and skill development in early childhood education practices.
- Submit grades by due date.
- Participate in the Student Opinion Questionnaire (SOQ) process as required by the College.
- Attend all scheduled department, program, and faculty meetings.
- Utilize technology, including AI‑enabled tools and software where appropriate, to support teaching, learning, student engagement, professional responsibilities, institutional service, and other responsibilities, in a manner consistent with academic standards, professional ethics, confidentiality requirements, and compliance with institutional policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of work experience in early childhood education.
- Knowledge of the CDA certification process preferred.
- Experience coaching early childhood teachers preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to use technology relevant to the discipline and faculty role, including the capacity to learn and appropriately utilize emerging AI‑supported tools; ability to evaluate the accuracy, reliability, and appropriateness of AI‑generated content; maintain confidentiality where required; exercise professional and academic judgment; and uphold ethical standards in the use of technology for teaching, learning, and service.
