Position Overview
The Department of Psychology at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, invites applications for a tenure‑track faculty position in Social Psychology to begin August 25, 2027. This is a university year appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor. All sub‑areas of Social Psychology will be considered, including the core themes of emotion, culture, motivation, attitudes, social cognition, interpersonal and intergroup relations.
Social Psychology is a hub discipline that contributes to adjacent areas of academic inquiry and addresses real‑world problems. Expertise, breadth, and innovation in theoretical, applied, and methodological approaches will also be considered.
Successful candidates must have a PhD in psychology and demonstrate a commitment to undergraduate and graduate teaching and mentorship, including courses that address core‑area needs. New faculty hired at the Assistant Professor level will be expected to establish an independent research program.
