LSA Opportunity Hub Coach

The LSA Opportunity Hub at the University of Michigan is looking for a Hub Coach who will contribute to our mission to support students as they develop their aspirations and professional identities. We provide students access to internships, internship funding, professional opportunities, career coaching and exploration, and connections to employers and alums. These opportunities will support all LSA undergraduates, with a deep commitment to those who have been historically under-served, in pursuing purposeful work and meaningful lives.

We believe in the power of a liberal arts education, and the Hub Coach will place students at the center of the co-creative process of defining and preparing for career success.

We are looking for candidates who value working directly with students and campus partners; are comfortable taking action in a growing and changing workplace; and who will contribute to a motivated collegial team environment. You must also prize and further our desire for inclusivity.

You will report to the Assistant Director for Coaching and Outreach or the Outreach Program Manager. This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities*

The Hub Coach will provide career coaching services for LSA undergraduates, with the starting point being the diverse goals and aspirations of liberal arts & sciences students. A candidate who understands and can demonstrate a history of student engagement and advocacy for inclusivity is essential. Using the LSA Opportunity Hub approach to coaching and student learning, you will help liberal arts & sciences students reflect on their experiences to gain an understanding of their interests and potential career goals.

You will form relationships and conduct strategic outreach across LSA units, departments, and U-M student groups to further expand the reach and awareness of the LSA Opportunity Hub. To complement and amplify the work of coaching and outreach, the Hub Coach will frequently collaborate with the Hub student experience, alum engagement, employer engagement, mentorship, communications, and learning, data, and assessment teams.
